Ary’s Book Cafe, Ubud
Walking into this little café feels almost like stepping into a scene from a novel. Warm golden lights, shelves filled with books, and elegant vintage interiors create a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and stay a little longer. At first glance, the place may seem unassuming from the front, but take a walk toward the back and you’ll discover a lush, beautifully maintained garden with a peaceful shrine. It’s the kind of hidden corner where you can settle in with a good book, enjoy a quiet afternoon tea, or simply take a moment to recharge surrounded by greenery.
Beyond the atmosphere, the café is just as inviting when it comes to food and hospitality. The friendly and attentive servers make you feel welcome, while the menu offers something for almost every mood from Indonesian favourites like mie goreng to burgers, pasta, crepes, and tiramisu. The fruit smoothies are worth trying too! Whether you’re looking for a relaxing reading spot, an afternoon escape in the garden, or a cozy place to enjoy an evening cocktail, this little gem is definitely worth a visit. I came for the atmosphere, but I’d happily come back for the experience and highly recommended for book lovers.

Tales Book Cafe, Nusa Lembongan
Tucked away in beautiful Nusa Lembongan, this little café feels like the kind of place you discover and immediately want to keep as your own secret. The food is fresh, healthy, and full of flavour, with the kind of quality you’d expect from a highly rated European or Australian café. I tried the smooth, not-too-sweet matcha and the green sourdough, and both were absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, I loved the beautiful design and cosy atmosphere it’s the perfect place to escape the island heat, slow down, and enjoy a peaceful moment with a good book. Highly recommended for book lovers.
The staff are warm, professional, and attentive, while the café itself is beautifully maintained and inviting. There are even board games if you’re in the mood to spend a little longer here. I’ve already visited twice during my holiday and honestly, Whether you’re looking for a relaxing breakfast, a quiet reading spot, or simply a cosy place to unwind, this café is definitely one of my favourite finds in Nusa Lembongan. The Library, Kerobokan
One of the most underrated café finds in Bali! From the moment you step inside, there’s something effortlessly charming about the atmosphere. The staff are lovely, the food is delicious, and it’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time. For brunch, the Hash-Brown Egg Nets are a must-try, while the coffee and smoothies are just as impressive. There’s something about the calm, page-turning atmosphere that makes you want to leave your book open beside your plate and simply enjoy the moment.
And then there are the waffles crisp around the edges, soft in the middle, and exactly what a good waffle should be. The snacks are simple but reliably delicious, while the ayam betutu is a real standout: rich, fragrant, and packed with character. All in all, this is such a charming place where lunch feels less like a quick pit stop and more like a cosy little chapter in your day. Whether you’re there for brunch, a good book, or simply a quiet meal, it’s definitely a Bali café worth discovering.

Rumah Momo, Denpasar
A unique vintage-themed café tucked away in the heart of Denpasar, this place feels like a little trip down memory lane. Inside, you’ll find an interesting collection of reading materials, from books to stacks of comics, along with plenty of old-school treasures displayed on the shelves. There’s an old tube TV, a VCD player, a tape recorder, and even some classic toys like Tamiya cars. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the café has plenty of character and gives you something new to discover in every corner.
There is a quiet reading area, which is lovely if you simply want to sit down with a book, but overall, I wouldn’t say this is the best spot for solo time or working from a café. Most of the seating is designed more for groups, while the indoor tables and chairs tend to be quite low, making them less comfortable for eating or working on a laptop. Still, if you’re looking for a café with a nostalgic atmosphere, quirky vintage details, and a different experience from the usual modern cafés in Denpasar, this one is definitely worth checking out.

Also love the peaceful outdoor seating on the second floor, although there’s indoor seating available too. The atmosphere is perfect for slowing down and enjoying your meal without feeling rushed. If you’re looking for a cosy spot with great food, lovely people, and a beautiful atmosphere, I’d definitely recommend giving Little Talks a visit!
